Road to MLG CS:GO Major Championship: Columbus
Major League Gaming (MLG) will host the first Counter Strike: Global Offensive Major Championship of 2016 in Columbus, Ohio on March 29 through April 3. Below is a list of all qualifying competitions leading up to the Major Championship. Whether you’re looking to qualify or follow your favorite team in their path to Columbus, here’s all of the action packed Counter-Strike that awaits you.

Each Minor Championship will feature 8 emerging teams from the region with at least 1 team moving on to the Major LAN Qualifier. Registration for the MLG Minor Championship Qualifiers in North America and South America is now OPEN!
Americas

  • Dates = January 15-17
  • Location = MLG Arena in Columbus, Ohio
  • Prizes = $50,000
  • Format = Group Play & Single Elimination Bracket
  • 1st Place Team Qualifies for Major LAN Qualifier
  • Teams = 8

    • 2 Directly Invited Teams (TBA)
    • North America Online Qualifier Top 4 Teams (December 19-20) [Register]
    • South America Online Qualifier Top 2 Teams (December 19-20) [Register]
  • Asia – Top 2 Teams Qualify for Major LAN Qualifier
  • CIS – 1st Place Team Qualifies for Major LAN Qualifier
  • Europe – 1st Place Team Qualifies for Major LAN Qualifier

MLG will offer teams from the Americas and CIS/Europe a final opportunity to earn an invitation to the Major LAN Qualifier. Teams that were ineligible to participate in a Minor Championship will be eligible to participate in their region’s Last Chance Qualifier. These competitions will be invite only.
Americas

    • Dates = January 23-24
    • Format = Single Elimination Bracket
    • 1st Place Team Qualifies for Major LAN Qualifier
    • Teams = TBD

      • Americas Minor Championship 2nd-4th Place Teams
      • Americas Teams ineligible for Minor Championship participation

        • Ineligible Players must submit their roster of 5 players to jnye@mlg.tv by 5 PM EST on Monday, January 11.  Such Rosters may not include a player registered to compete in a Minor Championship.

CIS/Europe

  • Dates = February 2-7
  • Format = Single Elimination Bracket
  • Top 2 Teams Qualify for Major LAN Qualifier
  • Teams = TBD

    • CIS Minor Championship 2nd-4th Place Teams
    • Europe MInor Championship 2nd-4th Place Teams
    • CIS/Europe Teams ineligible for Minor Championship participation
    • Ineligible Players must submit their roster of 5 players to jnye@mlg.tv by 5 PM EST on Monday, January 18.  Such Rosters may not include a player registered to compete in a Minor Championship.

The Major LAN Qualifier will determine the 8 Challengers who will take on the Cluj-Napoca Legends at MLG Columbus 2016.
